Re: Over 50 and Dancin'
Sat, May 20, 2006 - 11:22 AMI've been off of my dancing, after a life time of dancing, due to getting some Health issues under control & I want to Say:!
Damn! Ccan I ever see the difference in my body without the daily dance stretchings, strengthening & co-ordination! I can also see as I recuperate some of the damage done both by intense living & intense dancing that at sometime my body started compansating for injuries..... OUCH! The chronic hidden paun/discomfort that we all live with*^*^*^*^* even if it was fun gettin' the causations......
After my 1st accident as a nubile 20+yo I resorted to Yoga when the "best Drs in Beverly Hills" (I had a good attorney/boyfriend there }) told me to "learn to live with it {the pain}." Uuhhhhh 'live with it? At 23?'
So now I have been ironically fortunate with lots of Nouveau Medicine Spinal shots & pills & I appreciate the help; damn if I don't......
but But I know that using Supplements - vitamins, minerals, greens, protein etc & getting back to a committed Yoga & hopefully returning to Dance Is the Repair & Future body that will endure.

Re: Over 50 and Dancin'
Thu, October 26, 2006 - 5:31 AMI miss dancing. Its something that was pure joy for me in the 70's and the 80's. It seems that people our age don't get down and get wild anymore (at least not in Baltimore). -

Re: Over 50 and Dancin'
Tue, January 30, 2007 - 3:09 PMWhen I was a kid, I'd go outside at night to just run, jump and dance-I felt like I could fly. In my teenage years, I went to dances nearly every weekend and danced for hours with the babes to rock & roll and rythm and blues-it was fantastic. I never caught Disco Fever however so I went for years not dancing. My wife and I took ball room dancing a couple of years ago, and I enjoy it. But I miss the feel and freedom of dancing in the dark and just dancing the night away to rock & roll.
Entertaining the idea of doing some sort of tribal or primitive dancing.
