He All!
I want to wish all a happy weekend, and I will meditate and pray that all of us that have family, friends, and loved ones
in the areas that have been hit by Katrina.
It makes me think of all of the things I take for granted.
As I sit here thinking of BB Que and Drinks I look at TV and Get sad. I will be retiring in 3 months, and while I am happy about that, I feel sad for people that will never get to be able to retire.
We must send energy and continious prayers.

Re: Happy Weekend Ya'll
Sat, September 3, 2005 - 4:36 AMThanks, ditto about your weekend plans and safety for you family and loved ones.
The american people are spoiled to DEATH, I am...The response from the ordinary person is slow and bewilderment. A youth organization I belong too has a releif fund set up for pennies and the parents looked at the jar and turned their heads. We are the most spoiled folks on the planet. -

Mon, September 5, 2005 - 7:58 AMYou are soo tight Bob. We take soo much for granted. My grandsons birthday party was great. You can tell that us adult's minds were on Our folk in Louisiana, but we tried to make it alright for the 9 year olds. There was kind of a cloud
over things. We know that there is a trial yet for all of us. -

Re: Happy Weekend Ya'll
Fri, February 2, 2007 - 8:32 PMSince Hurricane Katrina/Rita, there have been thousands of youth groups, church groups, families and individuals who have made multiple trips to the Gulf Coast to help us clean up and us rebuild and they are still coming. Nearly five (5) billion dollars in private donations have been made just for hurricane Katrina/Rita relief which does not include the personal cost of volunteers. Even in the midst of our own losses, we help each other here. The donations continue to flow in.
The charity and the volunteers have been a fabulous blessing. We saw firemen from New York City coming down to donate their time, money and equipment to repay our love and kindness when we went to their aid after 911. Americans spoiled and uncaring? Hardly.
If you would like to volunteer your time/money and put in a few weeks of uncompensated hard work, let me know. You'd get to work side by side with many thousands who continue to do so. It will change your sadly lacking and flawed perceptions of Americans.
